Overview of the Scholarship Program

NU Scholarships

The Nugaal University Scholarship Program was developed in 2020 with the aim of providing access to higher education for underprivileged and talented students in the local community. The scholarship program is designed to nurture a community focused on character building and human flourishing through an emphasis on community service.

Scholarship Benefits

  1. Full scholarships covering tuition fees.
  2. Partial scholarships covering half of the tuition fees.
  3. The scholarship duration is a maximum of 8 semesters for undergraduate degree programs.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be from low-income families without relative assistance.
  2. Applicants must have outstanding academic performance.
  3. Applicants must be single and their parent/guardian must be responsible for more than three students registered at the university.

Application Process, Selection Criteria, and Process

  1. Applicants must download the application form from the university website, fill it out, and submit it to the Office of Student Affairs.
  2. Shortlisted applicants will be called for a face-to-face interview.
  3. The selection process considers the applicant’s socio-economic status (40%), communication and critical skills (25%), personality and attitude (20%), and defense of personal statement (15%).
  4. The final decision is made by the Scholarship Committee, and no appeals are entertained.

Scholarship Maintenance Requirements

  1. Maintain a CGPA of 2.8 or above in each semester.
  2. Maintain at least 90% class attendance every semester.
  3. Complete studies within the stipulated period.
  4. Comply with the university’s rules and regulations.
  5. Take good care of the university’s facilities.
  6. Abstain from media statements, politics, criminal acts, public demonstrations, and disciplinary acts during their studies.
  7. Maintain good health throughout their studies.

Withdrawal and Reimbursement Policy

  1. Students who wish to withdraw from the university must reimburse the costs incurred during the study period.
  2. Failure to reimburse the amount will result in legal action.
  3. Students are responsible for any fines or summons from third parties without the university’s involvement.
